Over the Christmas break, something showed up in my Instagram inbox. I was in the midst of the craziness that is December, with the addition of a few commissions and self-assigned projects… you know, why not? I was beginning to stress over the holidays and finding the perfect gifts for my special people. Finishing giant paintings I had started. And trying to find some time to relax so that I didn’t get burned out on it all. What was in my inbox? A simple message from Stacy of the Lubbock Cultural Arts Foundation, asking about possibly getting together to chat and maybe do a blog post. I honestly couldn’t believe it. She wanted to…. write a blog post about me??? Anytime I get a message about my art, it makes my day… literally. This just made my whole year. Of course I wanted to chat!

Little did I know where that message would take me. Stacy and I met at All About Looks one wintery Friday morning. She brought along her videographer and graphic designer. I brought along way too many paintings! We had spoken on the phone previously, but it was so nice to put a face to the name. We wandered around the store and chatted. Found a nice, colorful spot to
setup, and we began talking. And talking! I have no clue how long we were actually there, but at the end of the day I felt like I had been chattering away with old friends.

Thank you, Stacy and John and Liz, for taking time out of your day to learn more about me and my art, and All About Looks. And for putting together this AMAZING article and video about little old me. I truly just can’t believe it.

And! If you’re ever in the mood to meet local Lubbock artists, Stacy hosts an Art After Hours event the first Tuesday of every month. Venues change, so keep an eye on their Instagram (@lubbockculturalarts)!
